My Tech
Last Updated: 12/04/25
I like Tech. A lot. And I have a lot of it. I'll probably keep updating this as I get cool new stuff that's worth talking about. Here is the main tech that I use:
PC (Built August 2024)
Pics in gallery
Specs:
- Ryzen 7 7800x3D - The peak of gaming CPUs (until 9000 x3D)
- (Apr 2025) Nvidia RTX 4070ti Super - Switched from my 6950XT due to constant problems with drivers and other issues. Also, DLSS is actually alright now. I specifically got the Asus ProArt version which goes really well with the black and gold Fractal North case.
- 32GB Crucial Pro DDR5 "6000mt/s" (it doesnt boot reliably with XMP at 6000, so i have to use 5600).
- MSI B650 Gaming Plus WiFi Motherboard - It's a motherboard. It works. Nothing special. Its popular I think? Probably because it's good for the price.
- (Apr 2025) Samsung 990 Evo Plus 2TB SSD
- Crucial P3 1TB NVMe SSD
- NZXT Kraken 240 AIO - There's probably better AIOs but this one was not too expensive. And it has a screen for funny memes.
- Fractal Design North Case (Charcoal Black, Tempered Glass) - it looks so good with the wood front, gold power button and leather pull tab for the top panel.
- Some random USB 3 card - I broke on of the pins of the USB 3 header on my motherboard, rendering one of the two front panel ports dead. I got a USB card with this header connection on to fix this, and also to add another USB controler to fix weird USB issues.
- AverMedia Live Gamer 4K (GC573) Capture Card - to play games on consoles through my PC without having to switch monitor input mainly.
- As of early 2025, I now have a 1440p 240hz OLED monitor, specifically the ASUS XG27AQDMG. Wow, OLED is good. And the high refresh rate is a nice upgrade over my old 1080p60 monitor. If you can afford it, get an OLED. It's so worth it for the great contrast and the true HDR.

Jan / Feb 2025 additon:
In late January 2025, I bought a used Valve Index kit from eBay for a really good price. It was already quite cheap (as there was a slight scratch on the lens which I can't even notice) then they sent me a lower offer after adding it to my watchlist. I decided to buy it after showing my friend and I'm glad I made that decision because it's such a nice headset. A few weeks later, I got 3 Vive 3.0 trackers for FBT in VRChat.
Consoles
I own too many game consoles. I don't play all of them. But they're cool I guess. Not necessarily in any sort of order, but I tried to put ones I use the most near the top.
- Steam Deck OLED - I got an LCD model back in November 2022, the upgraded to an OLED and sold the LCD to my friend in December 2024. I got the 512GB OLED and swapped in the 1TB drive that I had put in my LCD. Originally, the LCD was a 64gb as it was all I could afford. It was the first big thing I bought after getting a job.
- PS4 Pro - For Bloodborne
- Nintendo Switch
- New Nintendo 3DS XL (What a name). I have the metallic blue variant, it looks so good but the metallic paint is peeling off on one corner. Apparently this is common.
- Nintendo 3DS XL (Original) - I've had this for years, and the screens have gone washed out.
- Meta Quest 3 - I also have a BoboVR strap. This thing almost exclusively plays beat saber.
- DS Lite
- Modded Gameboy Advance, with funnyplaying "ITA" backlight kit (uses DSi screen) and aftermarket shell. See gallery. As a side note to this one, I also made a custom Pokemon Emerald cartrdge in matching colour with a custom label from Matthewmods on etsy. I used an RTC flash cart from insideGadgets as this was cheaper than buuying a real copy of Emerald and provides an original experience. Also lets me add QOL rom hacks.
- Gameboy Advance SP (AGS-001)
- Gameboy Micro
- Nintendo DS (Original) - My first ever console
- Nintendo Wii U
- Xbox One S (looks battered, got it for £50 from my friend to play Lego Star Wars Skywalker Saga as I didnt have PC that could play it at the time)
- Xbox 360 - One of the original models, think it is the Core model (white disc tray but before they called it Arcade. No HDMI).
- PS2 with 1TB HDD
- Nintendo Gamecube - Modded with picoboot
Daily Tech
Tech that I use daily or frequently.
- iPhone 16 Pro 256GB Desert Titanium - I pre-ordered this when it came out. Interesting financial decision but I had just become a 'responsible' adult with money so yeah. I have a Dbrand grip case with the cotton candy skin (it looks so good) and a Prism 2.0 screen protector on it that only took 50 DAYS before they shipped it.
- New as of March 2025: MacBook Pro 16" 2021 M1 Pro - this thing is a beast of a laptop. The performance and power efficiency of Apple Silicon is crazy.
- Apple Watch Series 4 - I wear this every day, but not at night. I did for a bit but sleep tracking isn't too important to me.
- AirPods Pro 2
- iPad Pro 12.9" 5th gen (M1) + Apple Pencil 2 - A recent addition. Upgraded from an iPad 6 and wow it is quite the upgrade. Just having the large screen for writing is so nice.
